Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
Lavender essential oil is one of my favorite essential oils! The oil is steam distilled from the flowers of the lavender plant. The aroma is beautiful – fresh, light, herbal with floral woody notes!
What makes lavender shine?
Lavender has two main natural chemical components – Linalol and Linalyl Acetate. Both chemical components have been well researched and are proven to have these four therapeutics properties:
· Pain relieving actions
· Reduces swelling and inflammation
· Supports the immune system
· Calming and relieves anxiety
In addition, linalyl acetate has an additional therapeutic property:
· Reduces tension, tightness and muscle spasms.
You can see that lavender essential oil is a powerhouse! Lavender can be used in inhalers, diffusers, body care products and cleaning products.
And I especially love the beautiful aroma that has such a calming healing effect on my nervous system.
